Bedruthan Steps, Near Newquay
Within 30min minutes from Mitchell by car, you’ll find Bedruthan Steps – one of north Cornwall’s most unique beauty spots. Enjoy the dramatic views of this wild and rugged coastline as you gaze across the stunning bay, characterised by the iconic stacks of rock and turquoise waters. Beware that steps down are currently closed due to rock fall, but the breath-taking views from above more than make up for it.
St Nectan’s Glen, near Tintagel
This idyllic waterfall is nestled in an ancient woodland just a short drive from the mystical Cornish town of Tintagel. Soak up the mysterious atmosphere on your walk down to the falls through the winding trees and be ready to get your toes wet for a good view of the cascading water at the end.
The Lizard and Kynance Cove
This stretch of coastline is undoubtedly the most famous beauty spot on Cornwall’s south coast – and for good reason. With crystal-clear waters and an awe-inspiring landscape, you’ll find this must-see location on the most southerly point of the British mainland. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the resident cliff-side ponies!
Polly Joke, Newquay
Famed for its beautiful poppy fields in spring, Polly Joke is Newquay’s worst-kept secret. Hidden just beyond Crantock beach, the cove itself is a small walk down from the car park but it’s well-worth the climb back up. For a quiet retreat from Newquay’s busier beaches, you’ll be in the right place.
Camel Estuary, near Padstow
Most people know about the picturesque harbour town of Padstow, but sometimes it’s the journey there that counts. So, why not hire a bike and cycle the Camel Trail to get there? The Camel Estuary winds its way down from Wadebridge to Padstow and beyond, offering an easy ride for the average cyclist with lots of insta-worthy stop-offs along the way.
St Michael’s Mount, Penzance
If you’re looking for a magical experience in Cornwall, you’re in luck; after all, what’s more magical than a castle in the sea? Stop off at St Michael’s Mount for chance to explore this internationally-famous landmark and discover a world of myth and legend. This tiny island can be reached by a long cobbled path at low tide, so time it right for that all-perfect snap.
Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor
If you’re looking to get away from the coast for an afternoon, head inland and venture to Rough Tor. This rocky outcrop is steeped in archaeological history and offers elevated views across Bodmin Moor on a clear day. The second highest point in Cornwall, it also happens to sit in Bodmin’s designated Dark Sky Landscape, making it the ideal spot for a touch of star-gazing!
