Top tips to make your loved one feel extra special this Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day may be a bit of a cliché to some people (or the most important day of the year to others), but either way, if you’re spending it in Cornwall, why not take some time for you and your partner to celebrate it, anyway?

It’s no doubt the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and celebrate the best things about being together.

Don’t worry if the thought hadn’t even crossed your mind yet, though – we’ve got you covered.

Here’s a few ideas which will make your loved one feel extra special this Valentine’s Day:

A romantic walk on the beach:

Sure, you might need to wrap up a bit for this one (after all, it is still February) but a fresh, winter walk could be the perfect excuse to spend some time together in the clean, sea air. Take a flask of hot tea and a little picnic, or, if you’re walking in Newquay, stop by the Lodge for one of our scrumptious winter warmers.

Try something new:

Valentine’s is a great excuse to try something new with you partner (and could work well as a surprise gift). Newquay Activity Centre has everything you need if you want to get outside, from surfing and SUPing to coasteering and kayaking. If the brisk outdoors isn’t your partner’s thing, why not book in with a local cookery class or craft session with some of Cornwall’s most celebrated artisans?

Beach clean:

Are you both interested in protecting the local environment? Give something back this Valentine’s Day and head down to your local beach spot for a bit of tidying. You’ll not only feel good about helping out but it’s safe to say you’ll deserve a well-earned drink to celebrate!

Romantic dinner out:

It’s a couple’s favourite – the chance to romance each other over a candlelit dinner. Here at The Plume, we’re all about celebrating love by bringing the taste of Cornwall straight to your plate.

Celebrate your love for Cornwall with Cornish gifts:

Cornwall arguably has some of the loveliest hand-crafted gifts on offer – from atmospheric candles to luxury hampers full of locally-sourced products. We’re big fans of the Cornwall SoapBox, where you can find luxury, locally-crafted loveliness, including soaps, toiletries and room fragrances. See more here.

Luxury night away:

Want to go that one step further for your partner this Valentine’s Day? Or maybe you have a special question to ask? Book a night of luxury at Lewinnick Lodge for a truly memorable, romantic break away from your busy lives.
