Check out some of our top adventure activities in Cornwall that could be just what you’re looking for.

Surfing Cornwall’s best beaches

Cornwall is renowned for its world-class surf, drawing surfers from across the globe. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, there are plenty of spots to hit the waves.

Some of the most popular surfing spots include Fistral Beach, Perranporth, and Polzeath – all wave hotspots with numerous surf schools on hand to help you nail that pop-up.

If you’re not sure where to get started, why not check out Escape Surf School or Fistral Beach Surf School in Newquay? The perfect spot, where you can head to our sister venue, Lewinnick Lodge, for a post-surf drink!

Explore Cornwall’s wild side

For those who love to explore on foot, Cornwall boasts some of the most breathtaking hiking trails in the UK, suited to all levels of hikers. From coastal paths to rugged moors, simply choose your terrain and get walking.

Our favourite walks include the South West Coast Path section from St Ives to Zennor for jaw-dropping cliffs on one side, and remains of our mining heritage on the other. Or head inland to Bodmin Moor for something steeped in lore, where you can enjoy incredible views from Brown Willy (Cornwall’s highest point) and numerous ancient sites.

Head south and the Lizard Peninsula boasts a dramatic landscape with hidden caves and heart-pumping coastal walks, as well as the iconic Kynance Cove.

Conquering Cornwall’s crags

With its towering granite cliffs and sea-swept rock faces, Cornwall is a dream destination for climbers. Whether you’re looking for traditional climbing or bouldering, all skill levels are welcome.

Popular climbing spots include:

  • Bosigran – A legendary sea cliff climbing spot near Land’s End. Great for trad climbing with stunning ocean views, but be aware that some experience is needed to master this spot.
  • Sennen Cove – Perfect for climbers of all abilities, this location offers incredible granite cliffs and a variety of routes for all levels.
  • The Cheesewring, Bodmin Moor – A unique inland climbing spot with interesting rock formations (but be wary of needing dry weather to climb this one well!)

If you’re new to climbing, consider hiring a guide or joining a local climbing group to get started safely – and, even if experienced, it’s always worth reaching out to understand the right conditions needed to climb in various locations.

Low skill, high adrenaline experiences

Finding adventure in Cornwall doesn’t always mean you need to have mastered skills like surfing or rock climbing to have fun. If you’re after something truly exhilarating, there’s plenty to try that won’t require hours of practice!

For something that really gets your blood racing, why not book a coasteering session, where you get the chance to jump, swim, or scramble along Cornwall’s coastline with the help of a guide?

Other key activities include ziplining (you can do that over the iconic Eden Project biomes, or head to Adrenaline Quarry), skydiving over Perranporth, or even jet-skiing and wake-boarding for those high-speed water adventures.
