Planning an unforgettable couples escape to Cornwall

If you, like many, have been hunkering down for winter and waiting for warmer days, now is the perfect time to plan your couples getaway to Cornwall this spring.

With its stunning coastline, charming villages, and untarnished countryside, Cornwall is, undoubtedly, the perfect destination for couples looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Whether you're planning a romantic escape for a special celebration, or simply craving quality time with your partner, make the most of the empty beaches and renowned beauty spots together - before the summer crowds arrive.

Here’s your guide to planning an unforgettable weekend:

Hiking our favourite beauty spots

If you enjoy hiking and exploring nature, Cornwall’s dramatic coastline is ideal for long walks hand-in-hand. The South West Coast Path offers some of the most breathtaking views in the UK, from the iconic cliffs at Land’s End to the tranquil beaches of St Ives. Plus, you’ll find lots of great pubs and pit-stops along the way!

For those who want to get away from the popular spots, lesser-known gems like Holywell Bay or Lantic Bay are equally memorable, and great places to watch the sun go down.

Unique experiences for every couple

From the adventurous explorer to the eclectic theatre-goer, there’s an experience for everyone in Cornwall. Consider a private boat trip from Falmouth to discover hidden coves, or try your hand at paddleboarding in Newquay, if you’re keen to get on the water.

For history buffs, a visit to Tintagel Castle, steeped in Arthurian legend, can be both fascinating and romantic. But, if you’re looking for a theatre experience like no other, book a session at the Minack Theatre – Cornwall’s impressive open-air amphitheatre, perched on the cliffs of west Cornwall.

Foodie spots to savour together

Cornwall is an absolute haven for foodies, with fresh seafood, cosy pubs, and award-winning restaurants dotted along the coastline and throughout the county.

For fine-dining, head to Rick Stein’s The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, or enjoy a laid-back lunch from the beach kitchen at The Hidden Hut, found on the Roseland Peninsula. You’ll also want to squeeze in some of the Cornish favourites (like a proper Cornish pasty or cream tea – jam first, of course), which can be found at most bakeries and cafes.

For the ultimate Cornish country pub experience, book a table at The Plume, where we bring the flavours of Cornwall to the plate with locally-inspired ingredients and recipes. With our 16th Century bar area, complete with log burner, warm up with a pint after that refreshing country walk!

Check out local events

Throughout the year, you can make the most of local events across the region – there’s always something to see and do. One of our favourite events coming up this spring includes St Piran’s Day – the national day for Cornwall on 5th March – which will see towns all over the county celebrate with parades and activities throughout the day.

For flower lovers, you’ll enjoy the Spring Flower Show at the Royal Cornwall Showground in April, while music lovers can spend two days of revelry at Healey’s adults-only Rattler Fest – now in its fifth year running.

Finally, don’t forget, the famous Porthleven Food Festival returns 2nd-4th May – with a variety of food stalls and music from local artists, it’s one of the biggest food shows in Cornwall.
