About Us Background

About Plume of Feathers

The Plume of Feathers is the most inviting of places.

Our cosy retreat blends the warmth and character of a traditional inn with a stylish, contemporary ambience. Exposed oak beams, a roaring log fire and a natural spring hark back to the past, while vibrant art, a light-flooded conservatory and innovative dishes create a modern edge.

Once you’ve had your fill of country-pub food packed with local ingredients, retreat to one of our boutique bedrooms where you can soak in the bath and slip between Egyptian cotton sheets. Converted from the original barns, stables and hen houses to which their names allude, our accommodation features country-style furnishings, modern artwork and all mod cons. Dog-friendly rooms available on request.

Drink and dine in a cosy ambience; sleep in utter comfort. The Plume of Feathers is the perfect choice for a luxury break in Cornwall.

Our Team

We aim to provide the very best customer service and dining experience but know that we couldn’t do that without a skilled and motivated team. We’re proud of what they achieve and so like to hero them, with thanks here.

Who is who

Venue manager and secret adrenalin junkie Dominika Grabowy has been in the hospitality industry for 13 years.

After graduating in hospitality management, Domi, who’s from Poland, worked as a general assistant in hotels throughout Europe, including France, Greece, Italy and Belgium.

In her spare time she swaps her clipboard and spreadsheets for skis or carabiners and goes skiing, climbing…even skydiving!

Domi loves her role as venue manager, saying she loves people, food and drink.

Our head chef Andrew Dudley fell in love with cooking after spending his Saturdays with his grandmother at the family farm in Wales; he still regards her as the best cook he ever met!

His training was split between Pibwrlwyd College, Carmarthen and Les Sorbets Cullinary School, Pays de la Loire, France.

Andrew returned to the UK to work for various prestigious hotels in London, Brecon and Herefordshire. He was also in the finals for the Welsh Chef of the Year.

Andrew ran his own restaurant, in south Wales, for four years before deciding on a change of pace and a move to Cornwall with his family.

Now he is working his magic at The Plume, helping us forge our way to being a real foodie destination and his love of the Cornish diversity of food will become evident as he creates new and inspiring menus and signature dishes.
